Bird Watching is a major activity and the area is considered by many to be The Bird Watching Capital of the World. Located in the heart of nature’s birding paradise, guests have added 15-30 new birds to their Life List during their stays. There is good access to the nearby San Pedro Riparian Conservation Area and other well known local natural habitats to hike and explore. Javelina Hollow’s roof top observation deck offers amazing daytime scenery as well as spectacular stargazing opportunities at night. The view from our “Crow’s Nest” has a 360 degree unrestricted view of mountains and valleys. Guests say “the stars at night seem so clear and brilliant they could just reach out a touch them”.
In addition to many different birds there are other animals and wild life present and guests normally experience a continuous parade of deer, rabbits, squirrels, foxes, and families of javelina & babies, and other animals filing by the back yard that will have you jumping from window to window just to take it all in. Some animals return so frequently you will be giving them their own names.
There are many excellent hiking, biking trails, and places to explore. You can enjoy golfing at one of the 11 nearby Public Golf Courses, experience the quaint old copper mining town of Bisbee with many new art galleries, relive the Old Wild West by visiting Tombstone, explore the world class living caves of Kartchner Caverns, or visit Arizona’s Wine Country in nearby Elgin & Sonoita.
With so many places to see and explore, every day will be an adventure, but you will still be able to return to Javelina Hollow. It is more than a vacation rental, it's a Residence for You and Your Family.
